Red Black RC swashplates are truly revolutionary! Instead of the industry standard spherical ball squeezed between plastic cups, our swashplates use only ball bearings. Although the spherical ball design rotates with the upper swashplate and main shaft, it does rock back and forth relative to the plastic cups once with each revolution of the upper swashplate. The degree of rock is the same as the swashplate tilt. That's 2500 times in one minute if you're running a 2500 RPM rotor speed! A spherical ball swashplate is a compromise between friction and rigidity of the assembly. Not so with Red Black RC swashplates. Our unique design uses a fully ball bearinged gimbal which eliminates friction and is as rigid as the bearings permit. The benefits are many including longer swashplate life, less wasted power, and less slop. Also with our customers in mind, our swashplates are designed to be fully and easily rebuilt with our rebuild kits saving money in the long run and restoring performance to a like new condition.
